HD80T – Rapid Pollution Cleanup

The HD80T has unique features which make it particularly suitable for use in situations that could not be addressed by more conventional pumps, such as the rapid removal of the hazardous materials and viscous sludge associated with pollution events.

Existing methods for cleaning up marine pollution, especially that caused by oil spillage mostly rely on skimmers with static pumps to transfer the pollutant to reservoirs. These arrangements often take too long to commence operation, and experience pumping problems when the pollutant becomes thickened and mixed with debris.

Penalties for damage caused by pollution events involving oil spillage are becoming increasingly severe. Speed is of the essence when performing the cleanup operation.

Our pollution cleanup solution utilizes a single easily managed device (HD80T), engineered to operate in extreme conditions, powered by a simple hydraulic connection and yet capable of moving large amounts of fluids per and hour.

Emergency Cleanup Features:

• Significantly reduces exposure to pollutants. The HD80T is positioned and controlled from the safety of an enclosed cab.
• The HD80T can be rapidly transported across rough ground such as a beach or deployed from a barge using a tracked vehicle such as an excavator and controlled by a single operative.
• Powered from standard hydraulic connectors available on the vehicle that is used to transport and control the pump or from a small hydraulic power pack.
• Precise position and depth control for maximum efficiency.
• Constructed from bronze and stainless (plastic options available) to withstand operation in harsh environments and in areas demanding spark proof protection.
• Low power consumption for high reliability and low running costs.
• No need for priming, which means the HD80T is able to start pumping immediately upon introduction into the polluted area.
• Can pump a wide range of fluid viscosity, including foam and mixtures of sludge and sand.
• It has a flotation device with configurable options to enable pollution cleanup from calm water or in open sea condition.

HD80T Flotation Device

Using the flotation device, the HD80T can be deployed very quickly from on board ship or a harbor wall immediately following a pollution event. Because of the compact size, the unit can be easily stored ready for lowering into the water using a hoist. Optimum depth for pumping is controlled b the flotation accessory. and power is provided by any available hydraulic takeoff, or from diesel or electrically driven hydraulic power pack.
